Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. Starting tomorrow, Westside Parkway in Alpharetta will have just one lane in each direction between Haynes Bridge and Hembree Roads due to construction. Water and sewer lines are being run below the road. These lanes will be closed between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until July 25. Drivers are encouraged to avoid this area; alternate routes include Encore Parkway, North Point Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road. (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
  2. This Saturday, bring your family to Milton's Community Egg Hunt. It will take place between 4-6 p.m. at the Cambridge High School football field. There will be different hunts depending on your child's age, plus inflatables, refreshments, face painting and more! Registration is required for planning; there is no cost for admission. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  3. There are more headaches for drivers on GA 400. The flex lanes that were open for rush hour between Pitts and Holcomb Bridge Roads have been closed. These lanes were opened in 2012 to alleviate traffic, and are now marked with orange barrels due to construction. Eventually, there will be new express toll lanes that will help with traffic, but there isn't a published timeline for when they will start. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Alpharetta Youth Baseball needs new umpires for this spring. Umpires have flexible schedules, and can be both teenagers and adults. Here is a link to apply https://www.youthleagueofficia... (Alpharetta Youth Baseball Association via Facebook)
