Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- A Dunwoody woman has been arrested and charged with kidnapping. During an argument, she refused to let her ex-boyfriend leave his apartment. She allegedly struck him and held onto him for an extended amount of time. His adult son finally broke up the disturbance and called the police. (Appen)
- An Uber vehicle traveling in our area was stopped by police, who found drugs and a firearm. It was driving on GA 400 near McFarland Parkway in Alpharetta and driving erratically. The SUV had one Uber passenger, who was carrying a large bag with marijuana, scale, Oxycodone pill and rolling tray. Police also found a handgun and bulletproof vest. The passenger was arrested, and the Uber driver was released. (Appen)
- There is good news for people who use the greenway near the Mansell Road bridge in Alpharetta. The City approved a $2.2 million project that will replace the rotting wood section with concrete and steel. This area becomes flooded at times and the construction will prevent water damage to the trail. The project will take approximately 12 months to be completed. (Appen)

- Would your children enjoy esports? They can sign up through the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA; it's offered for kids ages 8-18. There are tournaments coming up on Jan. 21, and Feb. 11. Parents can find additional information at ymcaatlanta.org. (YMCA)
- Andy Stanley of North Point Community Church will be leading a live event regarding effective leadership. The purpose is to help organizations make quicker and better decisions. It will take place on Jan. 26 at North Point Community Church, 4350 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta. Ticket purchase and registration is required. (North Point)
- It's time to sign up for youth spring soccer at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA! It's a recreational league and try outs aren't required. There are leagues for girls, boys and coed ones. (YMCA)
