Yumbii Opening In Alpharetta This Spring

ALPHARETTA, GA — Atlanta native and Restaurateur Carson Young has announced the spring opening of Yumbii, a food truck turned taco shop, at The Atwater, 2685 Old Milton Parkway, in Alpharetta across from Avalon.

Offering dine-in, pickup and delivery for lunch and dinner daily, it will serve the same core menu the taco shop is known for at its Toco Hills and Brookwood Hills locations in Atlanta. Guests will be able to enjoy Yumbii tacos, Yumbii wings and sesame fries, plus health-forward items like build-your-own salad bowls. The beverage program will focus on beer, wine, tequila (including house made margaritas), house made agua frescas, and teas.

Designed by Atlantan Lindsay Denman, Yumbii Alpharetta will have a West Coast-cool aesthetic with custom locally-made banquettes, German beechwood countertops, colorful blue and white tile, rattan pendants, black and white striped flooring and peach accents. Diners will be able to place orders at a counter before finding a seat in the dining room.

Founded in 2010 by Young, Yumbii pioneered Atlanta’s food truck movement, serving up tacos and sesame fries and receiving accolades, including The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s “Best of the Big A,” Atlanta Magazine’s “50 Best Tacos in Atlanta” and Creative Loafing’s “Readers’ Choice for Best Food Truck.”

In 2017, Young opened Yumbii’s first brick-and-mortar location in Brookwood Hills, and that same year, The Queso Truck was first introduced in Los Angeles before making its way to Atlanta in 2019. Today, Young operates two Yumbii storefronts in Brookwood Hills, and Toco Hills, the Yumbii food truck, and The Queso Truck. The Queso Shop will open at Toco Hills soon, and both The Queso Shop and Yumbii are opening locations at Moores Mill Center and Midtown Promenade this year. The brands’brightly-painted food trucks will continue to pop up in the city, offering Yumbii and The Queso Shop on the go.
