Madison County and Athens Christian met at Double Oaks Golf Course. Josh Crouse’s 40 lead the way for Madison, which won the matchup 172-201.

Tennis

 Madison County finished second in Region 8-AAAA after a 5-0 sweep of Clarke Central. Bowen, LaZear, and Ortman were all winners once again in their singles matches.

Madison County claimed a subregion crown in 8-AAAA with a 4-1 victory over Clarke Central. They will be the No. 1 seed in this week’s region tourney. Ben Strickland defeated Christian Saupe 5-1, 6-0 in No. 1 singles to lead the way. Blaise Boleman was a winner at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2.

TUESDAY, APRIL 5

Boys tennis

Athens Christian enjoyed an easy 5-0 victory against Social Circle. Davis Warnell and Daniel Zimzpfer both won their singles matches without losing a game.

Girls tennis

Athens Christian cruised to  a 5-0 victory over Social Circle. Rebecca Becham won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Sarah Davis won 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 position.

-- defeated Hebron Christian 174-171. Freshman Kyle Mueller finished with a 33.

 -- beat Briarwood Academy 166-184. David Glassman led with 40. Monsignor Donovan were also victorious in a four-team match. Eric Baker’s 39 was first in the clubhouse.

Girls golf

-- The Athens Academy girls team lost to Hebron Christian 90-108. Jessica Gross shot a 51 for the day.

Boys tennis

-- Greater Atlanta Christian beat Athens Academy 3-2. Kevin Dong and Danny Sullivan both won their singles matches.

Girls tennis

-- Monsignor Donovan beat Piedmont 5-0, losing just three games over the entire matchup.
