Athens Police Investigate Multiple Burglaries
One woman was awakened by a burglar alarm and heard footsteps and a man's voice inside her home.

An Athens woman awakened by the sound of a burglar alarm early Wednesday, May 22 heard an intruder walking around in her home.
According to a police, she called 911 and reported having heard a male voice and footsteps in her Oconee Street residence around 3 a.m.
Officers found the door unlocked and discovered the alarm panel had been pulled from the wall but nothing appeared to be missing.Β The burglar wasn't located.

Police also investigated the following incidents:
- Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, May 21, an officer on patrol discovered an open door at a Ruth Street residence. While officers were at the scene, a resident arrived and said an amplifier, subwoofers, and a TV had been stolen. The total value was $1,560.
- Between 10 p.m. on May 20 and 8 a.m. on May 21, the pool house at Polo Club apartments on International Drive was burglarized. A TV valued at $1,500 was stolen.
- Around midnight on May 21, officers on patrol discovered a home on Bridgewater Way had been burglarized. The victims were contacted and they determined a laptop, TV, and DVD player had been stolen. The total value of the items was $2,800.Β
- A Hickman Drive resident reported a laptop and food items valued at $313 were taken from her home sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on May 21.
