A request has been made to demolish a garage on Rutherford Street in Five Points.

According to information from Athens Clarke County:

"As per Section 9-4-15C, Staff has found the above-referenced action eligible for a complete 90-day demolition review. As the application was submitted on October 29, 2013, written request to continue the review is needed by November 23, 2013 from the Commissioner elected to represent the subject property. 

 The subject property falls within Commission District #10 – Mike Hamby  The following additional information has been provided by the applicant or noted through Staff research:

Parcel Tax Map#: 124B2 H018 
Applicant: David Branch, Jr. / Branch Environmental, Inc. 
Owner: Carolyn Ingraham  

Tax information and the application indicate 1937 as the construction date of the garage. The property is listed as a contributing property in the West Cloverhurst / Springdale National Register Historic District and the neighborhood is denoted in the Comprehensive Plan as a potential local historic district."
