EcoFocus Film Fest Brings "Trashed" to Cine on November 12th

EcoFocus Film Festival, an initiative of the University of Georgia Odum School of Ecology, will present a special screening of the new documentary film “Trashed” on Nov. 12 at Ciné in downtown Athens, the third and final screening of its fall film series.

“Trashed” examines the disposal of what society defines as waste. The film features Jeremy Irons, who sets out on a journey to discover the effects of the global waste issue as he travels around the world to destinations contaminated by pollution.

The event, which is presented in partnership with the Athens-Clarke County Recycling Division to celebrate America Recycles Week, will start with a reception at 7 p.m. in the Ciné Lab followed by the film at 7:30 p.m. and a prize drawing at 9 p.m.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Ciné is located at 234 W. Hancock Ave.
