Former UGA Golfer Bubba Watson Wins Masters

Watson's biggest career win comes just down the road from the University of Georgia.

Bubba Watson used to play at the famed Masters golf club in Augusta, Ga., once a year as a student. On Sunday, he hit a once-in-a-lifetime shot to earn a green jacket there.

"This is what everybody strives to do," the 33-year-old is quoted saying in the Spartanburg Herald Journal after knocking the ball onto the green from deep in the woods to position himself for a playoff victory.

"No matter how much you want to live your life other ways, this is an honor, a special privilege, to put the green jacket on. I watched it as a kid and played here once a year at the University of Georgia, but I never dreamed of actually winning."

While playing for UGA, Watson helped lead the Bulldogs to an SEC championship in 2000. His wife, Angie, is a former WNBA pro who played basketball for UGA.

The couple also just adopted a boy, Caleb, a couple of weeks ago.
