Four Injured in Three-Vehicle Wreck Involving a Bus
The wreck happened on Lexington Road.

Four people were sent with injuries to the hospital following a collision that pushed a slowing car carrying childrenΒ into an Athens Transit bus.
According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, a bus on Lexington Road stopped to pick up a passenger between the Police Department and the County Diversion Center. A car that was traveling behind the bus, and containing a mother and her two young sons, slowed for the bus.
The story says that a work van that was traveling behind the bus and couldn't stop in time to avoiding hitting the stopped car. It hit the car and pushed it into the read of the bus.
The mother, her 16-month-old son and her three-year-old son were taken to the hospital, the story says. The work van driver also complained about pain and was taken to Athens Regional.
The driver of the van complained that his neck was hurt, the story says, but he was cited for following too closely. After complaiinig aboutΒ eck and back pain, and was also taken to the hospital.
