Government Shutdown Shuts Down Charter Lecture by James Clapper
The Athens Area Libertarian party had planned to protest Clapper's appearance in Athens.

The University of Georgia was expecting James. R. Clapper, director of national intelligence, to come to campus next week and deliver the Charter Lecture.Â
But the continuing shutdown of the federal government has grounded Clapper. He won't be traveling to Athens to deliver the lecture on October 16.
The Charter Lecture Series is sponsored by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, which is currently occupied by Libby Morris. It was set up in 1988.
