High School and College Students? Interested in Landscape Architecture? Come Visit

The University of Georgia College of Environment and Design will host a visitation day for students interested in degree programs Oct. 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Jackson Street Building.   

The event includes opportunities to learn more about undergraduate and graduate degree programs and admissions requirements and a chance to sit in on a class. Prospective students will hear remarks from the dean, program directors and current students. Tours of college facilities including computer labs and the print and technology center, which includes large format printing, a 3-D printer, a laser cutter, and GIS/GPS equipment, will also be available.

The college teaches aspiring landscape architects, planners, and historic preservationists about design, urban and rural environments, sustainability, green living, transportation systems, historic architecture, culture or any other elements that affect the functionality of successful communities.  

The college offers degree programs including bachelor of landscape architecture, master of landscape architecture, master of historic preservation and master of environmental planning and design. Additionally, a number of certificate options–environmental ethics, historic preservation, and historic landscapes—are available as degree enhancements. All of the college’s fields are interrelated and collaborative, allowing the opportunity for cross-disciplinary work, experience and networking.
