High School Wrestler Faces More Charges in Hit-and-Run Incident

On June 17, about 7am, Jens Dressler was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk off South Lumpkin Street near his home on Jolly Lane. At South Lumpkin and Gran Ellen Drive, a car veered off the road, jumped a curb and hit Dressler. Police say Jace Leamon McColskey of Jefferson was driving.

Dressler, 47, sustained a spinal fracture and other injuries, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald.

He was at first charged with DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving and underage consumption of alcohol, but a recent indictment in Clarke County Superior Court means McColskey also faces three felony counts of serious injury accident, the story says.

According to the story, after McColskey, then 17, hit Dressler, he left the scene. He was arrested on Prince Avenue by a police officer who stopped his damaged car. 

The story says McCloskey posted a $9,000 bond and was released from the Clarke County Jail.
