Police Arrest Suspect in Soldier's Murder
ACC Police arrest Cody Stanley Lumpkin for the murder of Jeremy Sean Buchanan. Suspect surrenders in Stonehenge.

Three days after a soldier from Commerce in an Athens apartment complex, Athens Clarke County Police arrested a suspect for murder.
Cody Stanley Lumpkin, 21, surrendered to police after a 3 and a half hour standoff in a Stonehenge house, according to the Athens Banner Herald. He is accused of shooting and killing Jeremy Sean Buchanan, 19, on Sunday night in an apartment complex in Northern Clarke County.
Rolling Ridge Drive isn't the place where one typically finds Commerce residents, but officials wouldn't speculate about what Buchanan was doing there. They didn't say whether Buchanan and Lumpkin could have met before the incident.

"We know that something had to do with drugs, but I'm not going to go into any detail," said ACC Police Captain Clarence Holeman.Â
According to the Athens Banner Herald, Lumpkin remained in a house on Altarstone Drive for much of the morning before coming out and surrendering.Â
