Marvin's Shoe Service Owner and His Family Lose House in Fire
Frank Eberhart, his wife Bonita and their four children are homeless, at least for a while.

For the second time, Frank Eberhart, of Marvin's Shoe Service on College Avenue, has lost his Madison County house to what seems to have been an electrical fire.
According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, Bonita Eberhart, who buried her mother two weeks ago, was reading a book on the family's front porch when she heard popping and saw smoke coming from the eaves. She called 911, and her husband Frank, when she saw the garage was engulfed in flames.
The story says members of the Nicholson Volunteer Fire Department responded, and did well in fighting the fire until they ran out of water. The Eberhart family lost most everything except a family Bible and some important papers.
