New Athens Regional Medical Center President Officially Named
James G. Thaw will run the hospital and Athens Regional Health Services, according to a news release.

James G. Thaw has been named the new president and CEO of Athens Regional Health Services and , the organization announced in a press release Thursday.
A committee of Athens Regional Health Services' board to replace John A. (Jack) Drew, who plans to retire Dec. 31 after leading the hospital for nearly three decades.
Thaw's first day as president and CEO will be Monday, July 18. Drew assumes the honorary role of president emeritus that same day.
Thaw had been president and CEO of Broward General Medical Center and Chris Evert Children's Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., since 2008.
