ATHENS, GA -- Some preschoolers in Athens got some new digs recently as the Primrose School opened its doors on Town Boulevard, Patch has learned.

The new Primrose School of Athens will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 21. The event, which begins at 10 a.m., is being held in conjunction with the Athens-Clarke County Chamber of Commerce.

On Saturday, April 22, Primrose Schools franchise owners Will and Ellen Beasley are inviting local parents for a family-friendly grand opening celebration.

β€œWe’re looking forward to partnering with parents to serve as an extension of the child’s home and focus on the Balanced Learning approach, which helps develop children both intellectually and emotionally,” Ellen Beasley said in a statement. β€œWe are truly excited to provide everything Primrose has to offer to families in the Athens area.”

The grand opening event will feature several activities, including a prize giveaway, food, refreshments, Percy the Rooster and Chick-fil-A's mascot cow, school tours, a scavenger hunt and much more.

The Primrose School of Athens, which opened on April 3, is the first in the area and is housed in a 12,500-square-foot structure that serves more than 195 children.
