Silver & Archibald, LLP is pleased to announce that Patrick Cates joined its law practice March 3, bringing his years of experience as lead counsel in Social Security Disability Insurance overpayment and medical improvement cases Β to the firmβs Social Security Disability practice area.
Cates, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., joins the practice after five years with the Georgia Legal Services Program in Athens, Ga., where he represented indigent clients as a senior staff attorney. In 2005, he earned his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Ore., where he was a winner of the Oregon Association of Administrative Law Judges Student Writing Competition and a writer for the Willamette Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Georgia in 2001.
Cates is a 2010 graduate of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy, and serves his profession as an adjunct instructor at Athens Technical College. A running and cycling enthusiast, Cates lives in Athens with his wife, Heather and two young boys.Β

Additionally, Benjamin Johnson, retired March 31 after twelve years of protecting the rights of Athensβ injured workers with Silver & Archibald, LLP.
