"Spotlight on the Arts at UGA" Among the Week's Highlights
Check the UGA schedule and plan your activities carefully to fit them all in!

This week marks the beginning of UGA's "Spotlight on the Arts," a 9-day celebration of concerts, theater and dance performances, art exhibitions, poetry readings, film festivals, discussions on the arts and creativity, and more. There are venues all over town and campus. For a full schedule, click here.Â

Monday, November 4th
12:30pm
The University of Georgia School of Law will host free speech advocate Mary Beth Tinker and student speech attorney Mike Hiestand as part of a nationwide tour on Nat 12:30 p.m. in Room A (120) of Hirsch Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public. During her talk, Tinker will discuss the case and the current state of free speech and civics awareness among America’s young people.Â
7:30 to 9pm
Athens-Clarke County Mayor Denson and Manager Reddish attend the monthly Federation of Neighborhoods meeting at the Fire Hall on Prince Avenue. it's going to be in a town hall format, so bring your questions.
Tuesday, November 5th
4pm
The Broad Street Market is open for business! The market features craft, produce and prepared food vendors and is held at the old West Broad school/ Rutland Academy.
7pm
The Athens Clarke County Commission and Mayor meet in the Chambers of City Hall on College Avenue. To see the agenda, click here.
Wednesday, November 6thÂ
2pm
"Tours at Two" at the Georgia Museum of Art. Come tour the museum with a tour led by docents.  This event is in conjunction with UGA's 2013 Spotlight on the Arts festival.
Thursday, November 7th
9am Want to buy a book? The UGA Press is holding its annual Dirty Book Sale in the Tate Center Plaza, offering books that are in slightly less than perfect condition. Come, look, buy.
