Two Demolitions Scheduled for Midtown

Two houses on Peabody Street will be demolished if an application is approved.

According to information from Athens Clarke County, Brandon Barrett of Barrett Development Group is the applicant who wishes to take down 347 Peabody and 327 Peabody. The two houses are listed on the 1913 Sanborn Insurance Maps, though tax records date them from the 1940s. One has a garage built in 1950.

The accompanying document says the "properties are not listed in a National Register Historic District nor located in an area denoted in the Comprehensive Plan as a potential local historic district."
