GA's Most Expensive Home, Built By Tyler Perry, For Sale

The massive mansion, in Buckhead, is on the market for what would be a record-breaking $25 million.

ATLANTA, GA — A new Georgia real estate record could be set if the sellers of a Buckhead mansion built by movie mogul Tyler Perry get their asking price.

The home, at 4110 Paces Ferry Rd., went on the market recently for the hefty sum of $25 million. If it sells anywhere near that, it will break its own record set when Perry sold the mansion to businessman-turned-evangelist David Turner in 2016 for $17.5 million.

The massive gated property is listed exclusively with Sotheby's International Realty.

While the asking price may be mind-boggling, the estate certainly has everything a buyer in that income-tax bracket could be looking for. It's a whopping 34,688 square feet, sitting on a nearly 17-acre gated estate that resembles a finely manicured park.

It has seven bedrooms, with nine full bathrooms and five half-baths. And its luxurious list of extras is eye-popping.

There's a 70,000-gallon, infinity-edge pool, a lighted tennis court, an indoor resistance pool, a fully equipped gym and a spa. It has its own guest house, a theater, a wine cellar and an underground ballroom with a catering kitchen.

If privacy is a concern, you've got two gated and secured entrances, complete with a guard house. And the grounds feature both formal and informal gardens, multiple covered verandas and a caretaker's suite.

Inspired by a French palace, Perry reportedly spent around $40 million when he had the home built in 2007. He originally asked $25 million when he sold it, but dropped the price before Turner bought it.

Turner was revealed as the buyer at the time in the Buckhead.com newsletter.

In an interview with the website's Ben Hirsh, Turner said, "God literally told me to come here. I went online and I saw this house, and that's when I felt like God told me, 'This is your house.'" Turner and Perry eventually met face to face and negotiated the sale.

Born in Miami, Turner began his business career as a producer of branded and private-label nuts and dried fruit including roasted and salted nuts, trail mixes and chocolate- and yogurt-covered nuts. Over the years, he built SunTree Snack Foods and Southwest Commodities, which combined have more than $100 million in sales.

He later sold the companies and launched the full-time David Turner International Ministries. He has since traveled all over the world as a Christian minister and preacher.
