Accused Gunman Planned GA School Shooting In Notebook: Reports
The Apalachee High School student is accused of killing two students and two teachers on Sept. 4 in Barrow County.

WINDER, GA — Authorities have reportedly testified that the 14-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting two teachers and two students on Sept. 4 at Apalachee High School planned the deadly massacre in a black notebook.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday testified at a preliminary hearing for Colin Gray, the father of accused gunman Colt Gray, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Testimony revealed the notebook allegedly used by Colt Gray - who was a student at Apalachee - contained detailed sketches of his second-period classroom and included writings used to estimate "casualty counts," the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Additionally, 11Alive reported agents testified that Colt Gray's mother, Marcee Gray, told them her son "had a fascination with school shooters and school shootings." She also said guns were accessible to her young son at home.

About a week after the deadly shooting, news broke that Colt Gray received the gun used in the shooting as a Christmas gift from his father. The gun was a SIG Sauer M400, the AJC reported.
Those killed in the shooting were identified as students Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn, both 14, and teachers 39-year-old Richard Aspinwall and 53-year-old Cristina Irimie. Eight students and a teacher were injured.
Colt Gray was charged on suspicion of four counts of felony murder, and Colin Gray was charged on suspicion of eight counts of second-degree cruelty to children, two counts of second-degree murder and four counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The gun used in the shooting was smuggled into Colt Gray's backpack, the GBI previously said.
He had asked a teacher if he could go and speak to someone in the front office - which the teacher permitted, the GBI said. Colt Gray, with his belongings, went into a restroom and hid from teachers, the GBI said.
He later retrieved the rifle and started shooting, the GBI said. Authorities have not indicated a motive in the fatal shooting.
First responders arrived on the scene around 10:30 a.m. when two resource officers, Brandon King and Donovan Boyd, located Colt Gray. The teenage boy then surrendered, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said at a previous news conference.
WSB-TV reported that Marcee Gray previously attempted to seek inpatient treatment for her son in an Athens facility. She said her son agreed to the treatment, the TV outlet reported.
The tragic shooting reignited talks of gun violence in America. Both national and local political leaders have spoken on the need for safety in schools.
