Burglary Reported at Home Damaged by Falling Tree
The residents were forced to move out due to the damage and the home was burglarized in their absence.

A family already dealing with the inconvenience of being forced out of their home must now worry about criminal activity as well.
The family'sΒ home in the 1400 block of Solomon Drive wasΒ extensively damaged by a falling treeΒ during an Aug. 23 storm, forcing themΒ to find alternate lodgings while the home is restored.
The day after the storm, one of the residents returned to the homeΒ and realized someone had been inside the home after findingΒ two empty cans of Lime-a-rita (an alcoholic beverage) in one of the bedrooms. The drinks, he later explained to a Barrow County Sheriff's deputy, had been in the refrigerator.
On Sunday, Aug. 25, the resident again discovered signs that someone may haveΒ been going in and out of the home when he found the gate leading into the fenced back yard had been left open.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, the resident checked on the house once moreΒ and found two cans of Miller Lite and a fifth of Vodka had been taken out of the refrigerator inside the house. The resident discovered a Walmart gift card and an Ingles Advantage card on the floor near the back door. The cards did not belong to the residentΒ or any of his family members.
The following day, the resident called the Barrow County Sheriff's Office to report the suspicious activity. The twoΒ cards were placedΒ into evidence. There are no listed suspects.
