Cake 'Emergency' Prompts 911 Call

A juvenile reportedly became upset upon learning the flavor of his birthday cake.

Many people might be pleased to get a chocolate cake, but a Winder boy is definitely not among them.

On Oct. 30, a Barrow County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to a Winder home in response to a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a female resident who explained there was no emergency.

"[The woman] advised her juvenile son became upset and dialed 911 when he realized his birthday cake was chocolate," the deputy wrote in the report.

The woman immediately took the phone from the child and instructed him not to call 911 unless it was an emergency.

No further action was taken.
