Two Homes Damaged When Trees Fall During Storm

One person suffered minor injuries and one home was extensively damaged.

The severe thunderstorm that rolled through Barrow County Friday night resulted in heavy winds and rains which caused at least seven trees to fall -- two of which fell onto homes.

The Aug. 23 storm brought a tree down onto a home in the 70 block of Nunally Road. One resident suffered minor injuries caused when the falling tree shattered a bedroom window.


Two adults were displaced from a home in the 1400 block of Solomon Drive after a tree fell onto the roof causing extensive damage.

No other residences were damaged.

β€œThis storm caused damage to two homes and is a great example of why all citizens need to be prepared for weather and other emergencies,” stated Deputy Chief John Skinner in a press release.Β  Β Β
