Two Shot During Dispute, Alleged Gunman in Custody

The shooting occurred Monday night.

Two men remain hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a Nov. 4 incident at a Winder apartment complex.

According to Winder Police, Tarrence Terrell Jennings, 23, has been arrested in connection with the Monday night incident. Jennings allegedly shot two men during an argument at an apartment complex off McNeal Road.

"The three subjects were supposedly arguing over money that Jennings owed," WPD public information officer Chris Cooper said in a released statement. "The argument escalated to physical violence and Jennings claims to have shot both males in an act of self-defense."

By the time police arrived at the scene, Jennings was gone. A witness identified Jennings as the shooter and police located him nearby.

Jennings has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. 

The two injured males were taken to area hospitals. One of the men was subsequently transferred to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. According to police, one of the men is in stable condition, the other is listed as critical.
