1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Buford-Area Shootout (Updated)
Gwinnett Police said several shots were fired during early morning altercation on Vintage Lane.
Update: The victim has been identified as Timothy Thornton (31 years old) of Buford. The investigation is still ongoing

Officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a person shot call located at 4637 Vintage Lane in unincorporated Buford at 2:55 am.
The caller stated that there were two victims that had been shot at the location. Officers arrived and located a female (45 years old) who had a gunshot wound to the arm that was non-life threatening. A deceased male was located inside the residence from apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives have learned that there were several people inside the residence when an altercation occurred and several shots were fired. The female was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center Lawrenceville with non-life threating injuries.
The deceased male’s identity will be withheld until the next of kin can be contacted. Gwinnett County Police Homicide detectives arrived on scene and are handling the investigation. -- Sgt. Brian Doan
