2021 Municipal Election Results For Gwinnett County

November 3, 2021

The results are in as municipal races across the state concluded yesterday evening. Gwinnett is home to 16 cities, most of any county in Georgia. Two city council races in Gwinnett will go into a run-off: Duluth City Council Post 4 and Suwanee City Council Post 5. City of Duluth residents will choose between Manfred Graeder and Brandon Odom while City of Suwanee residents will choose between incumbent Pete Charpentier and David Martinez. Run-off elections will be held on November 30.

The cities of Berkeley Lake, Grayson, and Rest Haven did not hold city elections as the incumbents were the only candidates to qualify without opposition.

Braselton voters chose Kurt Ward as their next Mayor in one of two contested mayoral races in Gwinnett. In the other contested mayoral race, incumbent Trey King was re-elected to serve a full term.

City of Loganville welcomes a new mayor in Skip Baliles as he was the only candidate to qualify for the race. Similarly, City of Sugar Hill welcomes City Councilman Brandon Hembree as its next Mayor as he ran unopposed.
