• Volunteers sought for Gwinnett County's, 'Bring One for the Chipper' effort (accesswdun.com) — Buford residents can recycle live Christmas trees locally at Fire Station 24 on Mall of Georgia Boulevard or Station 29 on Thompson Mill Road from December 26 through January 21. Trees will be turned into mulch at a countywide event, and volunteers are needed for the January 24 mulching day in Lawrenceville, with sign-ups available through Volunteer Gwinnett.
   

• Ashton Daniels says 'things didn't work out' with plan to return to Auburn (saturdaydownsouth.com) — Auburn quarterback and Buford native Ashton Daniels is entering the transfer portal after initially planning to return under new head coach Alex Golesh. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he thanked Auburn’s coaches, teammates, and community, saying he’s trusting God’s plan as he moves on with one year of eligibility remaining.
