February 2, 2022
The Gwinnett Chamber returned to the Gold Dome to host Gwinnett Day at the Capitol, its first in over eight years. Presented by Jackson EMC, Gwinnett Day at the Capitol brought members of the chamber’s public policy advisory committee and board to meet with the state’s leadership and Gwinnett’s legislative delegation. Gwinnett’s business leaders met with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Attorney General Chris Carr, Bert Brantley – Governor Brian Kemp’s Deputy Chief of Staff, and Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan. Topics of discussion included the state’s business climate, economic development projects, Governor’s budget, and the legislative session. The visit ended with a Georgia Gwinnett College sponsored luncheon for attendees at the Capitol.

State Representative Sam Park, Chair of the Gwinnett House Delegation and State Senator Sheikh Rahman, Chair of the Gwinnett Senate Delegation, gave morning orders during session to recognize Gwinnett Day at the Capitol. As chairs of their delegation, both members have a seat on the Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors.
The Chamber’s Day at the Capitol came at an opportune time as attendees were able to witness the legislative process for a Gwinnett bill unfold. From debate of the bill to a call for vote and passage, attendees experienced the daily work of the Gwinnett Delegation first-hand.
