Finally, Fireworks in Sugar Hill

The city's back to school event Saturday will feature the postponed pyrotechnics.

After a delay of about a month, Sugar Hill will light up the night with fireworks on Saturday (Aug. 3).

The Fourth of July fireworks that were wiped out by stormy weather are scheduled to go off as part of Back To School With a Bang at E.E. Robinson Park. An outdoor movie and live music also are planned, according to a city announcement.

Events begin at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks scheduled to start at 9:45 p.m. The movie "The Lorax" will follow the fireworks.

The music will be provided by Idol Kings, billed as a Journey/Mellencamp tribute band.

The park is at 850 Level Creek Road, Sugar Hill, 30518.

Parking and shuttle service will be available from Sugar Hill Church on Nelson Brogdon Boulevard, beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Questions should be directed to the city of Sugar Hill at (770) 945-6716.
