Gwinnett Chamber Hosts Consul General Of Japan In Atlanta

The Gwinnett Chamber was pleased to host Consul General Kazuyuki Takeuchi in Gwinnett. Consul General Takeuchi joined the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta in September 2019. Prior to his appointment in Atlanta, Consul General Takeuchi served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Japanese Embassy in Vienna, Austria. His foreign diplomatic missions also include posts in South America, Asia, and Europe.

The Gwinnett Chamber and the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta share a deep friendship that transcends multiple Consul Generals. The Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett organize annual trips to Japan to strengthen its ties with existing Japanese companies while recruiting new ones. At the chamber’s 73rd Annual Dinner earlier this month, Japanese subsidiary OFS was awarded the James J. Maran International Award, a recognition to international companies that chose Gwinnett as their expansion or relocation while positively contributing to the business community.

Gwinnett is home to more than 600 international businesses, 100 of which are from Japan. Like many of the other international businesses, Japanese business leaders have found Gwinnett’s strong cultural and economic diversity, along with its exceptional public education system, to be the key reasons for choosing Gwinnett. JapanFest Atlanta, held every year in Duluth, celebrates the longstanding relationship between Japan and Georgia through traditional dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese cuisine, games, music and more.
