Gwinnett Jail-Break Challenge Includes Trail Run, Obstacle Course

'Prizes will be awarded for catching 'escaped inmates' along the route.

Love to run? Enjoy a challenge? Then this one's for you. 

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its first "Jail-Break Challenge Obstacle Run" on Saturday, July 27, and the community is invited.

Registration is $40 per person, or $140 for a four-person team. All proceeds benefit the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and Beat the Heat Team. (Pre-registration is available until Sunday, July 21.)

The race includes a 2.5-mile trail run around the jail and a 16-station obstacle course normally used for deputy training, a rock wall, rope climb, monkey bars, cargo net, as well as other obstacles.

Start time for the open competition is 9 a.m. The team competition will follow an hour later.
