Cancelled Mall of Georgia July 4 Fireworks Won't Be Rescheduled
Fireworks will not be rescheduled because of regulations and permitting.
Although the Mall of Georgia had to cancel its Fabulous Fourth fireworks show because of the rainy weather Thursday (July 4) night, a lot of fun was had by visitors to the Village Green that afternoon.
Starting at 2 p.m., there were live band concerts, a Kids Zone contest, and hourly drawings for fantastic prize packages, each valued at nearly or more than $1,000.
A notice was posted on the Mall of Georgia Facebook Page Thursday night: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel tonight's fireworks display. We have tried everything possible to make this event a success, our sincere apologies. Happy 4th from all of us at Mall of Georgia.”

It rained intermittently during the afternoon, but holiday celebrants apparently hoped it would hold off for the fireworks show. While some set up chairs and blankets to snag spots for ideal fireworks viewing, others chose to spend the rainy holiday shopping in the mall, eating in the Food Court and watching the weather. The fireworks had been scheduled to go off between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
