Murder Suspect in Custody After GGC Lockdown (Update)
Fatal shooting near Georgia Gwinnett College had police searching campus Monday. Sheldon Soyer in custody Tuesday morning.
Police have the man in custody wanted in connection with a shooting fatality in an apartment near Georgia Gwinnett College Monday morning that prompted a campus lockdown well into the afternoon.
Lawrenceville Police said Sheldon Soyer, 43, is wanted as a person of interest in the shooting death of his wife, Vanessa Soyer. WSB-TV reported the shooting happened in front of the couple’s child.

The City of Lawrenceville announced Soyer was in custody at 8 a.m. Tuesday. A message on Facebook told residents, “Due to all of your help and the assistance of the surrounding Law Enforcement Agencies, this suspect has been located and is in police custody.”
