See Live Turtles Saturday at Environmental Center
World Turtle Day created to increase knowledge of turtles and help them survive and thrive.

See turtles from all over the world and your back yard during World Turtle Day Saturday, May 25, at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center in Buford from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
World Turtle Day was created to bring attention to and increase knowledge of and respect for turtles and tortoises and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive, according to a news release issued by GEHC. Of the 56 species of turtles found in the continental United States, 42 live in the Southeast.
“This will be a great opportunity to meet your shelled, reptile neighbors from around the corner and from around the world,” said Jason West, GEHC director of educational programming and development.
