Woman Gets Broken Tooth, Swollen Eye in Domestic Dispute

A Buford woman received injuries, and both she and her husband were arrested on battery charges after a recent domestic incident.

According to the Gwinnett Police incident report, officers responded May 8 to a Lance Ridge Way address, regarding a domestic dispute.

Man Kim Nguyen told police that he had been out with a friend "having a few drinks," police said. His wife, Truc Phong Ni Nguyen, confronted her husband about "staying out late and being drunk."

The dispute ensued, and eventually, the man broke his wife's iPad and cell phone, after which she punched him in the back of the neck, the police report said.

The man retaliated by kicking his wife in the face, breaking her front tooth, the report said. The officer also observed swelling under the woman's eye.

Also, the officer "noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage" coming from Man Kim Nguyen, and noted that he had bloodshot eyes.

Man Kim Nguyen was charged with aggravated battery, and his wife was charged with simple battery.
