2 Charged With Meth Trafficking, Firearm Possession
Deputies say they pulled over a Crown Victoria with white emergency lights and a working siren. The stop yielded drug and firearm charges.
CANTON, GA — Cherokee sheriff's deputies are charging two people with methamphetamine trafficking, among other charges, as the result of a Saturday, Feb. 23 traffic stop on I-575. Just before midnight, near Airport Road, a deputy pulled over Justin Martin, 29, of Morganton.
The vehicle was a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with white emergency lights and a working siren, a release from the sheriff's office says. The passenger, Haley Ausburn, 26, of Jefferson, told the deputy she had borrowed the car from a friend, the release says.
Deputies say the pair was acting suspicious, so they searched them, finding a handgun and small amount of meth in Ausburn's purse. Both of them were arrested.
