  1. Two young Cherokee County School District students have been awarded for their entrepreneur skills. Ella Richmond, a Carmel Elementary School third-grader, and Elizabeth McCloskey, a fourth-grader, received the 2022 Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. The award was granted to the pair for their business plan for the Chamber's Lemonade Day Cherokee County program. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Feeding Georgia, formerly the Georgia Food Bank Association, is investing almost $80 million into their efforts to keep people in the state from going hungry. The organization is helping its seven-network food banks raise a fundraising goal of $32.3 million needed to match funding being allocated through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs from the CARES Act. The organization has already raise $19 million of its goal. (SaportaReport)
  3. Gas prices in Georgia are on the rise again. On average, prices rose five cents in the state amid news OPEC plans to cut production. As of Monday, the gas prices in Cherokee County were an average of $3.231 per gallon – just barely over the state's average. (Subscription: Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News)
  4. Full- and part-time job opportunities are available in the Canton-Sixes area. Available positions include retail sales associate, event coordinator, dog grooming salon manager, HR generalist, executive recruiter, housekeeping supervisor, and more.   5. Early childhood education group Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring teachers in Georgia. The academy – which offers toddler care, preschool, aftercare, and summer camp programs – wants to hire educators for their Canton, Cumming, Duluth, and other Georgia locations. Big Blue Marble Academy is offering a $1,000 hiring incentive for all teaching positions. (Monroe Local News)
