- According to the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, the annual burn ban will end Oct. 1 in Cherokee County. Residents that live in the city limits of Canton should contact their city departments for information relating to local yard debris burning. (Canton-Sixes Patch)
- With help from a camera installed on a highway, a man from Tattnall County who was reported missing was found safe in Cherokee County. Charles Stansfield, 75, was disoriented and weak after not eating or drinking for days, according to his son Justin Sims. (Subscription: Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
- Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Harry Andonian of Canton has been designated as the Grand Marshal of the Parade of Veterans at the 2022 Wings Over North Georgia (WONG) Air Show. Andonian is a 98-year-old World War II pilot and aviation pioneer. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- The annual Born to Run 5K in downtown Canton is on Oct. 29. The event supports Reinhardt's Cherokee Scholars program, which provides scholarships for students from Cherokee County. (Reinhardt)
