Canton Awarded Excellence In Financial Reporting Designation
The city was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association.

CANTON, GA — The city of Canton has been recognized for its excellence in financial reporting. Canton was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its comprehensive annual financial report.
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The report, referred to as the CAFR by those in government circles, was determined to have met the highest standards for the program, "which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR," a letter to the city of Canton reads.
