A Canton man who allegedly robbed BB&T on Prominence Point Parkway in September 2016 was indicted this week by a grand jury.

CANTON, GA — A Cherokee County grand jury has indicted a Canton man for robbing a bank more than two years ago. The grand jury this week indicted John Stacey Adams on one count of robbery by intimidation stemming from his role in the September 2016 incident.

Adams, who was 59 at the time of his arrest, was apprehended Sept. 20, 2016, after Canton police received information that tied him to the robbery reported at BB&T at 152 Prominence Point Parkway.

Police said a man walked into the bank around 10:52 a.m. Sept. 6 and made a demand for money. No weapon was brandished, and the accused robber left with an undisclosed amount of money in a light-blue older model Ford Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar.
