🌱 Canton Creek Bridge Reopens + BBQ For Sequoyah High Band Of Chiefs

Here are the top five stories in Canton-Sixes today:

  1. As of Monday afternoon, Canton Creek Bridge has reopened following repairs. A patch had been temporarily placed on the bridge, located on Epperson Road in east Cherokee County. According to a press release from the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, crews will return to pave the patch. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
  2. Want to support Sequoyah High School's Band of Chiefs while enjoying some delicious Boston Butt? You have two days left to order your Fourth of July BBQ, with proceeds going toward the Canton high school band. Pick-up will be in Hickory Flat on Jun. 30.   3. A Canton team will be representing our community at the upcoming UAS4STEM Competition for high schoolers at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2022. The Creekview Aeronautics Team from Canton will be competing amongst others for the chance to win scholarship awards and various prizes. The high school competition takes place on Jul. 28-29.   4. A driver from Canton and a motorcyclist from Collinsville, Alabama were involved in a collision on Sunday night in Etowah County, Alabama. The male from Collinsville, who drove a 2008 Yamaha, struck the female from Canton, who drove a 2021 Honda. The driver of the 2021 Honda was uninjured; the motorcylist was hospitalized for his injuries. (weisradio.com)

  • Some parents remain hesitant of COVID-19 vaccines for kids age 5 and younger. According to the latest data from the state's Department of Public Health, 17 Georgia children between the ages of 0-9 have died of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. (CBS 46 News)
