Canton Foreclosure Filings See Increase From 2017: Report
Foreclosure filings in Canton for January 2018 increased when compared to January 2017.

CANTON, GA — Foreclosure activity in Canton for Jan. 2018 saw a 6.25 percent year-over-year increase from January 2017 and a 70 percent increase from Dec. 2017, according to ATTOM data.
According to ATTOM, there were 17 foreclosure filings in Canton in January 2018. Based on census bureau estimates, there are 33,023 housing units in Canton so one in every 1,943 properties in Canton has a foreclosure filing.
Foreclosure activity had an overall year-over-year decrease in the U.S. for Jan. 2018, and Georgia follows that national trend. The U.S. saw a 16 percent decrease in foreclosures while Georgia saw a 14 percent decrease.

According to ATTOM, Georgia is somewhere near the middle of the pack in foreclosures. In January 2018, there were 2,185 foreclosure filings in the state or one in every 1,902 properties had a foreclosure filing.
