Here are the top five stories today in Canton-Sixes:
- The Historic Canton Theater was featured in a roundup of the top things to do in Cherokee County this summer. Built in 1911 and owned by the City of Canton, the theater offers both live performances and film screenings for residents and visitors of all ages. As part of the Historic Canton Theater's summer programming, between now and Jul. 28, visitors can pay just $1 for screenings of popular family movies. (History Cherokee)
- Did you get a chance to see downtown Canton's latest mural? On Jun. 21, the City of Canton celebrated the opening of its newest mural with a ribbon-cutting and block party event. The whimsical wildflower wall was designed and painted by Madison Beaulieu, with support from the City as well as the Canton Cultural Arts Commission. (City of Canton GA via Facebook)
- On Monday, Jun. 27, the Living Bridge Center in Canton and Cherokee County Health Department clinics will offer free HIV testing in honor of National HIV Testing Day. The Living Bridge Centers will also provide complimentary condoms, cups, stickers, and more throughout the day. Anyone unable to attend in-person may also order a free self-test kit online.
