Cherokee Child Care Ratings Announced

They were rated on a scale of one to three stars, with three stars being the highest rating a center can achieve.

TheΒ GeorgiaΒ Department ofΒ Early Care andΒ LearningΒ today launchedΒ aΒ new ratings systemΒ that gives parents an idea of the quality of the state'sΒ child care programs.

ProgramsΒ have been rated on a scale of one to three stars, with three stars being the highest rating a center can achieve.

"Stars are awarded based on a combination of points gathered from an independent observation and a portfolio that demonstrates that the program meets standards above and beyond what licensing requires," according to the DepartmentΒ ofΒ Early Care andΒ Learning.

Programs with one starΒ haveΒ demonstrated a commitment to meeting standardsΒ that exceed state health and safety requirements, met several qualityΒ benchmarks, and scored sufficiently on the independent observation.

Two star quality rated programsΒ have demonstrated a commitment to meeting standardsΒ that exceed state health and safety requirements, met many quality benchmarks,Β and scored well on the independent observation.

Thee star quality ratedΒ programs have demonstrated a commitment to meeting standardsΒ that exceed state health and safety requirements, met numerous qualityΒ benchmarks, and scored high on the independent observation.
