Cherokee Sheriff's Office Awarded H.E.A.T. Grant
Sheriff's deputies in the H.E.A.T. Unit target aggressive driving with the goal of reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has been notified by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety that its H.E.A.T. grant application in the amount of $149,677.49 in federal funds had been approved.
This will be the second year the agency’s H.E.A.T. Unit has been federally funded under Sheriff Frank Reynolds. The grant is effective Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2019.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has three deputies assigned to the H.E.A.T. Unit. These deputies target aggressive driving with the goal of reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities on the roadways. H.E.A.T. deputies also attend many school and public functions to educate the public about impaired and aggressive driving.
