Cherokee Sheriff's Office Collecting Food For Pantries

Residents can donate nonperishable food items at sheriff's office precincts throughout the month of October.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is participating in a campaign to collect food donations for area pantries ahead of the holiday season.

The agency is taking part in the Leadership Cherokee Is Leading by Feeding initiative, a month-long challenge among Leadership Cherokee classes to collect food for MUST Ministries, Never Alone and Papa’s Pantry.

These three food pantries, which help less fortunate residents around Cherokee County, are experiencing a food shortage that's expected to grow in severity as the holiday season draws closer.
