'Driven' Canton Graduate 'Is Amazing In Every Aspect Of Her Life'

Canton, GA — Graduation is a major milestone and deserves to be celebrated! That's why Patch and T-Mobile have teamed up to recognize our community's outstanding 2024 graduates.

Mariah is amazing in every aspect of her life and exceeds the typical expectations of the average teenager. Mariah has been able to balance school, extra-curricular clubs/activities, and work. Her ability to do so amazes me. She does it without complaining and makes it look easy.

Academics: Mariah has done extremely well academically. She has a 4.3 GPA (weighted) which places her in the top 10% of her class. Her transcript includes honors and AP classes. She was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Extra-Curricular Clubs/Activities: Each year Mariah has participated in school and church activities. In many of these clubs/activities, she has held leadership roles. She has been a member of the SGA for the past 2 years and served as the SGA secretary this past year. She was an AP Ambassador and a member of Women in Stem. She has been a member of the Friends Club and has served as a manager of the Cross-Country team.

Work/Employment: Mariah has been employed continuously since 2nd semester of her freshman year. She worked at Dairy Queen from that time until May 2023. During that time, she rose to the position of Shift Lead. In June 2023, she transitioned to retail. She is currently working at Athleta as a salesperson. Mariah has also been employed with CCSD as a Student Worker in the After School Program at Liberty Elementary School. She has held this position for 2 years along with her other jobs.

Future Goals: Mariah will attend Mercer University in Macon, Ga this upcoming school year. She desires to pursue a career as a nurse and ultimately become a Children's Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She interned at Northside Cherokee Hospital this past year. I have no doubt that she will be successful.

Personality: Mariah is outgoing and loving. She is driven and a hard-worker. She loves to serve others and volunteer. She has a heart for young kids and those with disabilities.

Proudest Moment: My proudest moment was when she decided to dedicate her life to the Lord, which was done without prompting and was her sole decision. In Mariah’s everyday actions, she tries to exemplify the love of Christ.
