Electronics Recycling Set For Dec. 1 In Cherokee County

Most items will be accepted at no charge during the event, which will be held at the county administration building in Canton.

CANTON, GA — Cherokee County is joining forces with Waste Management and Premier Surplus to host an Electronics Recycling Day this weekend in Canton.

You can drop off various items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the county administration building at 1130 Bluffs Parkway.

Most items will be accepted at no charge, and residents can simply pull up and volunteers will remove the items from their vehicles. However, volunteers do ask that you remove all cables from their respective devices and boxes.

Items that will be accepted at no charge include: personal computers, laptops, modems, floppy disks/disk drives, printers, UPS batteries, CD-ROMs, fax machines, cell phones, circuit boards, copiers, telephones, computer power supplies, stereos, VCRs, CD players, scanners, keyboards, typewriters, toner cartridges, computer mice, test equipment, wire/cabling, computer monitors and networking equipment.

There will be a $20 charge to recycle televisions and $5 for CRT monitors. If you need to get rid of large projection televisions, there is a $40 fee.
