- Jerome Walker III of Canton was found guilty of attempting to commit child molestation and attempting to pander a person under the age of 18 by a Cherokee County jury. Walker was caught by an undercover officer from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office who was posing as a 14-year-old girl online. Walker was sentenced to ten years; he will serve five in prison and the rest on probation. (CBS 46 News)
- The left lane traveling North on River Green Avenue is temporarily closed as of Wednesday. The City of Canton is working to fix the road and will update when the work is complete. Please travel with caution. (Canton PD)
- Diego Ramos-Garcia, 23, of Canton received a 10-year sentence with three years to be served in prison after he was convicted of beating his girlfriend in public at a parking lot in Canton. When Canton police arrested Ramos-Garcia, they learned that he was already on bond after being arrested on different domestic violence charges involving the same woman. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- A Cherokee County grand jury has formally charged 24-year-old Brackus Golden of Canton with shooting and killing 25-year-old Kevin Misidi outside his home on Jun. 5. Golden is charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, first-degree home invasion, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated assault family violence, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated battery, and more. (News Break)
- The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta urgent care center in Canton will be open to the public starting Sep. 7. This is the first time the center will be open in over two years. Walk-in hours will be available from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
